Hunger Strike by SAD (Panch Pardhani) began at Delhi.

Delhi. 20 July, 2008 (PNN) Today Akali Dal Amritsar (Panch Pardhani) began its program of indefinite hunger strike before the Indian parliament focusing on three important Panthic issues i.e. Arrest of Dera Sirsa head Gurmit Ram Rahim, return of the precious treasure of Sikh Reference Library looted by Indian Army in June 1984 and Amendment of the Article 25 (2)(b) of Indian constitution. The first group of Protesters was led by Youth wing President Rajpal Singh Hardialeana.
The party leaders and sympathizers performed Ardas at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib and proceeded towards the site of Hunger Strike chanting Satnam-Waheguru where Bhai Daljit Singh Chairman of the Party said that there aim is to bring the injustices and oppression suffered by Sikh Panth before the court of the people.
The present issue of dera sirsa, which is a threat to peace, is not an isolated issue but a manifestation of the ideology and policy which refuses to recognize the uniqueness of Sikh religion and identity. This state policy goes against the principle of “Unity in Diversity” and threatens the existence of different religions, cultures and minorities. This policy is pushing the Sikhs and Punjab towards destructions and chaos.
He said that today Punjab faces grievous crisis and if the three symbolic issues are not addressed immediately, the situation can turn volatile. On this occasion a pamphlet in different languages appealing to conscience of the people was released.
