The Hondh Massacre of 2 November 1984 (Sikh Genocide - Kavishri)

Ludhiana, PUNJAB (March 08, 2011): On November 2, 1984 a Sikh Village called Hondh(-Chillar), situated on Rewari-Pataudi Road in Rewari District of Haryana, was attacked by hired Congress goons and Hindu miscreants, who killed 32 Sikhs and destroyed the whole village including the Sikh Gurudwara. This incident is remembered as THE HONDH MASSACRE. The survivors of the Hondh Massacre, who somehow escaped the genocidal violence in November 1984, were permanently displaced from the Village Hondh. The remains of the ruined village can be seen even today.
The massacre was never investigated and was completely connived at by the successive Governments constituted by various parties and the police and civil administration.
This Kavishri (poem) presents the painful account of the Hondh Massacre. It was recorded on 6 March, 2011 during a Samagam held by Sikh Sangat at Village Hondh to remember the innocent victims.
