CHANDIGARH: Sikh Federation (UK) has warned those associated with Simranjit Singh Mann to refrain from verbal attacks on the Khalsa Action Committee and the new Panj Pardhani system of SAD (Amritsar). (Read as not to speak against Daljit Singh Bittu).
A decision to counter the Mann loyalists was taken at a meeting of Sikh Federation attended by Bhai Amrik Singh, Bhai Kuldip Singh Chaheru and Bhai Narinderjit Singh.
The federation announced that it will be holding a programme in Germany, Frankfurt in the new year to reveal the structure for those it will from now on be working with across Europe in organising the World Sikh Lobby & Summit at the United Nations in Geneva from 14-16 March, the Sikh Freedom Lobby in the European Parliament in Brussels on 7 May and the annual remembrance event in Ypres, Belgium on 11 November.
Sikh Federation also decided to send up to five representatives to the next World Sikh Summit in New York from 2-4 February and would be urging contacts from different countries in mainland Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia to join Sikhs from the USA and Canada who are expected to take part in large numbers.
It welcomed the recent motion in the UK Parliament by MPs urging the UK Government to call for the immediate release of British citizen, Paramjit Singh Dhaddi who has been falsely imprisoned and tortured in Punjab for 1 year since 23 December 2006.
The Sikh Federation (UK) also released its 2008 Calendar. The Calendar pays special tribute to those that have sacrificed their lives for freedom and justice in the last 30 years, beginning with the 13 Shaheeds in Amritsar on 13 April 1978.
